JAG Indiana and Indiana Career Explorer
JAG Indiana and Indiana Career Explorer partner to help students better learn about career and college options. The Explorer tool allows students to explore their interests, gauge their work values and assess their job skills while matching them with potential careers and post-secondary educational options.
Every JAG student is required to complete the assessment tools available through Indiana Career Explorer as part of their career exploration.

You may hear about “letters of intent” when it comes to high school athletics, but at Seymour High School, that’s not the only place where seniors are celebrating their signings.
These JAG Indiana students signed “letters of intent” prior to graduation, committing to work at Owl Manufacturing.

Every year, many JAG students choose to enter into military careers.
Interested students in Southeast Indiana recently got the opportunity to learn about some of those options, touring the Army Aviation Support Facility in Shelbyville.

Careers in media and radio are of interest to JAG Indiana students.
WORX 96.7 had Madison Consolidated High School students in to tour the studio and even go on air to talk about how JAG has impacted their educations.

JAG Indiana students at Mitchell High School spend the day at the Marion Township Fire Department, where they got the opportunity to learn about firefighting and first responder careers as well as got the chance to use some of the equipment.

Cloverdale JAG student Hayley Monroe is gaining career experience at her local McDonald’s restaurant, where she was recently named as Employee of the Month.
McDonald’s franchises across the country partner with Jobs for America’s Graduates to help students gain valuable employability skills.

- Work Experience
- Work experiences are designed to provide career exploration opportunities and assist youth in understanding in-demand employability skills, employer expectations, and retaining employment.
- Internship
- Internships allow students the opportunity to work, learn and earn. These opportunities open the doors for students to more clearly understand how companies function on a day-to-day basis, what challenges and opportunities employers face and ultimately help students gain an understanding of the tools they need to be successful.
- Industry Recognized Certifications
- Credentials developed or supported by business and industry to verify a student’s mastery of technical skills competencies in an occupational area that aligns with local economic standards and is approved by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
